Data Deletion & Retention Transparency
We are committed to transparent data stewardship. Below is an itemized breakdown of what is permanently erased versus what may be temporarily retained:
✓ What is Permanently Purged
- Firebase Authentication identity: User UID, login credentials, and session tokens.
- Personal Profile Record: Document in users/{uid} containing full name, email, phone number, and bar enrollment details.
- Chamber Membership: User's membership mapping in workspaceMembers/{wsId}_{uid}.
- Chamber Configuration: Chamber settings doc in chambers/{wsId} (if user was sole owner).
- Device Local Storage: All cached matter indices, offline drafts, and tokens stored on the client device.
⚠ What May Be Retained & Why
- Shared chamber cases: Cases where other active advocates, associates, or co-counsels have active legal representation duties remain accessible to the ongoing chamber practice.
- Security & audit logs: Authentication audit traces retained temporarily to prevent malicious takeovers, fraud, and account abuse.
- Encrypted cloud backups: Periodic encrypted system snapshots which are automatically overwritten and purged on routine rotation cycles.
Chamber Owner Restrictions
If you are a Chamber Owner with active associates or team members, in-app deletion is blocked until you reassign team members or transfer chamber matters. For email requests, please specify instructions regarding chamber management to ensure continuity for your fellow advocates.
